Law & Order
Thursdays 8:00 PM on NBCLaw & Order Season 22 Quotes
Nolan: There's nothing you could have done to stop that young woman's death. Three minutes or six minutes, it wouldn't have made a difference.
Riley: I know that. It's not that -
Nolan: It's not that simple, is that what you were going to say? You know there is no law that requires police officers to be heroic.
Bishop: Like I said for the hundredth time, I ain't got nothing to do with that shooting. Hannah and I were tight. We weren't together at the time, but we were close.
Shaw: Really. That's what you call this? Cause we got ahold of this letter that you wrote Hannah two days before she was gunned down. There's a lot of really great stuff in here. Here's my favorite partl [Reading] "I can't describe the rage I feel. I hope it goes away but I don't think it will, not as long as you are alive."
Bishop: So? I was in love with her.
Shaw: Maybe so, but Bishop, this was not a love letter.
Cosgrove: Why does a rapper have his own sneaker line? He's not athletic, standing there on stage, swearing, wearing lots of gold...
Shaw: You know, I think that's the whitest thing you've ever said. It's actually kind of cute.
Cosgrove: Are you aware of any reason someone would want to hurt Hannah?
King Matisse: No, not that I know of.
Cosgrove: What about you? Anybody out there trying to hurt you?
King Matisse: Only half the damn city.
Cosgrove: Why is that?
King Matisse: Cause I speak my mind. These days people can't appreciate that, so I got a lot of haters.
Mr. Grey: She just went out to have a good time. What is this world coming to?
Cosgrove: From what I understand, she saved a young man's life. It may not mean much to you now, but your daughter died a hero.
Woman: One dead, two injured.
Shaw: They gonna make it?
Woman: I hope so.
Cosgrove: Someone had to have seen something.
Woman: Guess again.
McCoy: He's a clergyman. He's right about the law. His conversation with the defendant is privileged.
Price: Unless that privilege is in service of a crime or fraud.
McCoy: You're on dangerous ground, Nolan. To prove that, you'll have to attack the church. I thought we agreed that you'd make the case about the man, not the religion.
Price: I'm not going after the religion. I'm going after a single, corrupt preacher.
I'm done talking. I want a lawyer. Reverend Sherman can say whatever he wants, but the truth will prevail.
Pastor Mike
Put Pastor Mike on trial, not his church. If you lose religious jurors, you won't have a prayer.
McCoy
Let me get this straight. You want to go after a pillar of the community, a clergyman, on the word of a convicted felon who has every reason to lie?
McCoy
Cosgrove: Does your pastor drive a Bentley?
Shaw: I don't go to church enough to know.
Sherman: You okay with this?
Shaw: Okay with what?
Sherman: At the end of the day, you have to decide which side you're on, brother.
Shaw: I'm on God's side. Turns out, He doesn't like murderers.
