It appears as if prized recruit Smash Williams has become the victim of a prank in this photo from "Seeing Other People." Will this make the brash Smash come to his senses about colleges?
Smash tells his upset mother that he's going to his recruiting meetings alone from now on, because she's just holding him back. She responds that he's throwing away what's most important by forsaking his education.
Mr. Gordon, a man from Whitmore University, a historically black college, arrives to offer Smash an academic scholarship to the school. Smash is not impressed because the football team there stinks. Mama thinks his priorities are out of whack.
Noel, a cute girl whose brother used to play for Dillon and now stars at Miami Southern, introduces herself to Smash, who's immediately taken by her. This doesn't sit well with others such as Mama Smash.
Smash's mom and family make dinner for Tim, as Brian tries to get Riggins to get his act together so that he can get back on the Panthers football team.
Smash begs Eric to let Riggins back on the team so that he can hit those wide-open holes and get his stats. Eric Taylor kindly tells his star ball carrier to get out of his office.
Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) tries to get Smash Williams (Gaius Charles) and Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford) to air out their long-running differences. But it won't happen in this scene.
Matt tackles Smash. The only problem? They play for the same team. The bad blood had been building and finally it boiled over after the Panthers' narrow win in Week One.
It's not uncommon for teammates to feud off the field, but Matt and Smash took their personal beef onto it and humiliated themselves and their other teammates.
