The Lazarus Pit Isn't Done
We'll see the restorative pit again in the new season, but not in the same way, Mericle explained: "We want to bring stakes back to the show, and so we'll be finding a way to handle the Lazarus Pit portion of Season 3 in Season 4 in a new, inventive way." Guggenheim added: "It'll feel organic and very earned. It's actually very elegant."

The Return of Felicity
For those who thought Ms. Smoak was more sad than happy last season, we're getting back to the Felicity we all know and love... and a lot of that is due to none other than Emily Bett Rickards. "We were in the editing room yesterday," revealed Guggenheim. "And we were like, 'she’s just on the top of her game.' She is hysterical. We're definitely writing jokes for her but she’s also finding humor in lines that weren’t intentionally humorous. She’s really dialed in."

Constantine is Coming
We don’t see him in the season premiere, but Matt Ryan will step back into John Constantine's shoes soon, as fans of the short-lived NBC series will be happy to know that "we’ve got all the props, we got all the original costumes, we got the original Matt Ryan," Guggenheim said. "For us, when we finished watching the first cut of it, we were like, 'you know what? This feels like a legitimate crossover. It feels like we’ve crossed over with the other show and not just the other show is crossing over with us."

Other Crossovers are Coming
"We’re certainly gonna do our annual big crossover, which will be episode 8," revealed Guggenheim. "And it’ll be like last year's in the sense that we’re crossing over both shows and a good chunk of both casts." Also, don't be surprised to see members of The Flash and Arrow popping up on each other's shows in non-crossover episodes. Guggenheim also said they don’t do the crossovers lighting: "We really try to do it when it's motivated by a story and we’ve got a really good reason to do it. If you do it every episode or all the time, the crossovers become less special."
