Parks and Recreation Details

Although it's not a spinoff of The Office, Parks and Recreation is an NBC comedy in the same vein - and is produced by the same people. Amy Poehler stars as Leslie Knope, a government employee of fictional Pawnee, Indiana, with big political dreams.

One of her first big dreams, to build a park in Pawnee, lead her to her best friend, Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) and her boyfriend, Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt).

Leslie works with Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), Tom Haverford (Aziz Anzari), April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza), Jerry Gergich (Jim O'Hare), Retta (Donna Meagle), Ann Perkins' future baby daddy, Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) and Leslie's former partner and husband, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott).

The show takes a comedic look at small town government with amusing tales and brilliant guest stars including Lucy Lawless, Megan Mullally, Louis C.K., Henry Winkler, Tatiana Maslany, Paul Rudd and Kristen Bell.

Seriously, if the cast alone doesn't get you to tune in, you'll never watch. And you should check it out soon. The series is rolling into its seventh and final season. Will Leslie achieve political greatness before the end of Parks and Recreation? Who knows? Would it hurt you to check it out?

Parks & Rec Quotes

Tom: I meet a girl at a bar. She seems kind of into me, could go either way. I get her number. It's two days later. What do I text her?
Zach: It was nice meeting you.
Tom: No, Zach. I don't text her it was nice meeting you. I wait eight weeks and I text her, "what's crackin'?"

Ron: Who the hell is 'Fwarp'?
April: I don't know. I couldn't really hear him. It sounded like his name was Fwarp.
Ron: Get his number?
April: No.
Ron: Good girl.
