Recap
This week's performance episode left no doubt: Casey James has no business in the finals of American Idol.
He seems perfectly nice, but his two songs (one chosen by himself, the other by the judges) were easily the poorest of the evening, while Lee DeWyze dominated and is definitely a threat to season-long favorite Crystal Bowersox.
In response to Lee's take on "Hallelujah," Ellen said it was "stunning" and Kara said Lee is "the heart of the show." Very high praise, and valid: he connects with viewers a lot better than Crystal does.
This is how we rank the six singles played on the installment:
- Lee DeWyze, Hallelujah
- Crystal Bowersox, Maybe I'm Amazed
- Lee DeWyze, Simple Man
- Crystal Bowersox, Come to My Window
- Casey James, Daughters
- Casey James, OK, It's Alright With Me
