Quentin Lance is a former detective on the Starling City police force who was demoted back to beat cop after the events in "Sacrifice." He is also the father of Laurel Lance and Sara Lance. 

He was once committed to bringing down The Hood at any cost, but after The Undertaking he had a change of heart and has started to work with The Arrow (a name he decided better fit the vigilante) to help him fix the broken Starling City.
