A Million Little Things premiered last night, and despite the positive buzz, it failed to pack a punch in the ratings department.
The new series debuted with 5.1 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49. It matched last year's Season 2 premiere of Designated Survivor.
The Goldbergs (5.1 million/1.4 rating), American Housewife (4.4 million/1.2 rating), Modern Family (5.4 million/1.6 rating) all returned down vs. their previous premieres.
Single Parents (4.9 million/1.3 rating) had a decent debut.
NBC: Chicago Med (7.7 million/1.2 rating), Chicago Fire (8 million/1.2 rating), and Chicago PD (7.1 million/1.2 rating) were also on the downside year-to-year, but on par with their previous season averages.
Fox: Empire (6.1 million/1.9 rating) and Star (4.7 million/1.5 rating) returned down.
CBS: Survivor (7.8 million/1.7 rating) took a hit, while Big Brother (4.9 million/1.6 rating) plunged vs. its 2017 finale.
