Grey's Anatomy Casts Alex Landi as Series' First Gay Male Surgeon

Grey's Anatomy is staffing up.
The veteran ABC medical sudser has added Alex Landi to the cast for Season 15, according to TV Line.
What's more, Landi will be playing the series' first gay male surgeon.
As is always the case with Shondaland casting news, details are scarce. What we do know is that he goes by the name Dr. Nico Kim.
It's also unclear whether he will be a recurring player or a series regular, but details will likely be revealed around the time the actor first appears on the show.
Landi has appeared on Bull and in a series named Childlike.

Grey's has been switching things up on the cast front of late. Series regulars Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew were let go earlier this year.
The biggest surprise about the pair exiting is that they both got somewhat happy endings. Capshaw's Arizona moved to New York and seemingly rekindled her relationship with Callie.
April rekindled things with the man she jilted all those years ago, and all seemed right in the world.
Kim Raver has been promoted to a series regular ahead of Season 15. Her character, Teddy Altman, returned during Grey's Anatomy Season 14.
Teddy and Owen quickly picked up where they left off, and by the end of the season, we learned that Teddy was pregnant with Owen's baby.
However, this bombshell was dropped mere episodes after Owen adopt a child, and got closer to his ex-wife, Amelia.
But Raver is not the only person returning; Jeff Perry will also stage a comeback as Meredith's father, Thatcher Grey.
There's no telling what brings him back into the fold, so we'll have to watch it as it plays out on-screen.

Finally, Chris Carmack has also been cast on Season 15, and he will be playing a new doctor.
