TV Ratings Report: American Idol Slides Opposite Billboard Music Awards

The Billboard Music Awards aired on NBC Sunday night, and the awards show had a comfortable lead over American Idol in the demo.
The former secured 7 million viewers and a 2.1 rating among adults 18-49.
Idol had 7.4 million viewers and a 1.3 rating, slipping double-digits vs. last week.
Fox: The Simpsons (2.1 million/0.8 rating) and Family Guy (1.9 million/0.9 rating) were both down with their season finales, while Brooklyn Nine-Nine (1.8 million/0.8 rating) held steady with its Fox series finale.
FYI: Fox canceled Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but NBC swooped in and saved the series 31 hours after it was canceled.
CBS: NCIS: Los Angeles (7.8 million/0.8 rating) and Madam Secretary (6.2 million/0.6 rating) were steady.
