Black Lightning Round Table: Will Anissa and Black Lightning Become a Team?

at .

Do you have a lot of thoughts after Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 6?

If so, then you're in the right place because we have a lot to discuss.

TV Fanatics, Jasmine Blu, Andy Behbahkt and Paul Dailly chat about that big Anissa reveal, Khalil's new personality and so much more!

How will Anissa being a superhero change Lynn's views on crime fighting?

Jasmine: Lynn just started to come around and accept the fact that being Black Lightning is an integral part of Jefferson's identity that he can't give up. I think now that Anissa is a superhero, Lynn is going to have her reservations again.

This time, it's not just the man whom she loves. It's her child. She'll want to protect Anissa from everything, including herself. I think this is a way of allowing some progress to be made between Lynn and Jefferson, but still allowing her to be reluctant and wary.

Andy: I think it will stress her out, even more, when she founds out that her youngest daughter will also have powers! I did not expect this to happen so soon in the season; I thought it would be a season finale thing. But I am looking forward to seeing how Lynn will handle this.

Paul: I agree. Lynn is going to be more worried than before because now she has two of her family out there fighting crime. It was bad enough one, but I don't know how she is going to be able to get on board with two of them out there.

The Plan - Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 6

What are your thoughts on Khalil turning against Jennifer?

Jasmine: It was tough to watch but totally expected. Khalil is an angry kid who lost everything. He had to kiss the future he had mapped out for himself goodbye. It was going to happen eventually.

Andy: Jasmine said it perfectly, it was tough and I feel bad for Jennifer because they were so cute together.

Paul: I agree, but to some extent, Tobias is to blame. He's manipulating the kid to try and control the narrative in Freeland. He wants everyone against Black Lightning, and it's going to work.

The Scary Woman - Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 6

Gambi once worked with Lady Eve. React!

Jasmine: Holy crap, I did not see that coming during that scene. This was my favorite episode so far, and that little info bomb is one of the reasons why.

Andy: I was afraid that this was the secret or at least one of the secrets that he has been hiding from Jefferson. Like Jasmine, this was my favorite episode of the season and Gambi is one of the reasons.

Paul: Yeah, that was quite the twist, and it definitely left me with more questions than answers.

Tobias Has a Plan - Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 6

What did you think of the comparison in Jefferson's scan to people with Green Light in their system?

Jasmine: I like this and where it could be headed. It was one of those things that made sense once it was presented to us, so it wasn't surprising per se. It's intriguing though.

Andy: I will admit that this wasn't something that I thought a lot about when watching the episode, so sadly I don't have a deep answer here!

Paul: It was a bit out of the left field, but it should make for some interesting stories if it becomes common knowledge around town.

On The Hunt - Black Lightning

What do you want to happen in the second half of the season?

Jasmine: Based on that ending, anything they throw at us now will be top-notch. I want to see Jefferson mentoring Anissa. I can only imagine the teasing and competitiveness between the two of them. I want to see Anissa come into her own as a superhero. I'm still reeling from the Gambi revelation, and I'm looking forward to how that will play out. I also want to know more about Jefferson's father. I hope Anissa continues with her research.

Andy: As much as I am loving Anissa's story, I do want to see more for Jennifer because we know that she will also be getting powers - spoiler alert, she is also a superhero in the comics! - as I feel there has been a lot of teen drama for her as of right now. I think I also want similar things like Jasmine when it comes to the second half of the season. But in particular, I want more for Jennifer.

Paul: Jefferson and Anissa on the streets, fighting crime as a duo. That would be grand. I do want to see more from Jennifer, but I have a feeling her powers may be revealed at the end of Black Lightning Season 1. I want Lynn to find some peace knowing that her family are part of the greater good.

Black Lightning Season 1 Episode 6 Quotes

Tobias: What the hell happened to you?
Joey: I just fought Black Lightning. One more minute and he would have been dead. Something’s wrong with his head.
Tobias: So, why didn’t you finish him?
Joey: I tried, I was holding my own. He trashed my gun. I tipped our guy at the department.
Tobias: There was a time you could depend on white boys to be professional. Nowadays, white boys are just as lazy and predictable as your brothers.

Jefferson: Tobias is in Freeland, Gambi.
Gambi: Breathe, Jefferson, Breathe!
