Riverdale Season 2: Who Will be a Series Regular?
Paul Dailly at .Riverdale will be returning to The CW later this year, and the hit series is already getting casting sorted for Season 2.
The latest shocker is that Skeet Ulrich has been upped to regular for the sophomore run. That likely means his character, F.P. Jones will be making his way out of prison.
“We so loved having Skeet on Riverdale last year, that we couldn’t imagine Riverdale without him,” EP Sarah Schecter confirmed to Deadline, which first broke the news.
“He’s a stellar actor, and we feel we have just scratched the surface of who FP is. We are excited to have Skeet continue on this journey, and we can’t wait for the audience to see what he is up to this year.”
On Riverdale Season 1, F.P. was arrested for the murder of Jason Blossom. For those of you who watch Riverdale online, you will already know that he only confessed to protect his son, Jughead.
Clifford Blossom threatened Jughead's life if F.P. did not take the fall for the murder. Even when the killer truth became common knowledge amongst the residents of Riverdale, F.P. was still locked up in the slammer.
The reason?
Sheriff Keller felt that he had done a lot of things that were not entirely legal and warned Jughead that he should not expect his father to be seeing the light of day anytime soon.
Seeing just how horrible the community had been to his father, Jughead felt like the best move would be to get closer with the Southside Serpents. Poor Betty watched in horror as her boyfriend put the jacket on, effectively joining the clique.
Will F.P. want to take his son away from all of the criminal activity of the Southside Serpents and make a go at a good way of life?
If he has any hope of reuniting his family, it would be a start.
An episode order is yet to be confirmed for Riverdale Season 2, but the duration of filming for the season sure makes it sound like a full season is in order.
Last month, it was confirmed that Casey Cott was also promoted to series regular. He plays Betty's friend, Kevin Keller.
Somewhat surprising, Ashleigh Murray who plays Josie McCoy was already signed as a regular for Season 1, yet Kevin had a bigger presence and appeared in more episodes.
