Vincent Irizarry Joins Days of Our Lives

A familiar face to soap opera fans is on his way to Salem.

Vincent Irizarry - best known for his long-running performance as Dr. David Hayward on All My Children - is headed to Days of Our Lives, according to Yahoo TV.

Details on Irizarry's role are not known at this time, but producers have revealed that he'll be playing a character with strong connections to the Kiriakis family.

The beloved NBC daytime drama will mark its 50th anniversary with a special celebration on November 8 of this year.

Irizarry, meanwhile, started taping with the show this week, but will not debut until 2016.
