The Mindy Project Review: No More Mr. Noishe Guy

The bi-coastal babe has returned.

After spending three months in California for her fellowship, Mindy returned to New York for a visit where there were plenty of bombshells dropped on The Mindy Project Season 3 Episode 14

From the beginning, California seemed like it would suit Mindy, so it was no shocker when she had the offer of a lifetime to start a practice there. Only problem, Danny is a New Yorker through and through. So, how to convince Danny to make that move?

Fine. I'm wearing my bicycle helmet, in case there is an earthquake.

Danny

Of course, the bad timing of a future practice also coincided with Danny buying a home for him and Mindy. Mr. Afraid-of-Commitment was finally ready to "put down roots." Good thing, because by episode's end, things escalated real fast for Mindy and Danny. More on that in a bit.

It was sweet to see how much Danny went into looking or a place for him and Mindy. The place is a dump, crazy rats and all, but the effort Danny put into the search was nice.

Elsewhere in the practice, Peter made a huge life-changing decision to move to Texas to be with Lauren. I loved their relationship, but this meant it was time to say goodbye to Dr. Peter Prentice and his portrayer, Adam Pally.

The loss of Peter will be a big. He has been a highlight of the series since he joined in The Mindy Project Season 2 Episode 3. He was the perfect combination of hilarious, inappropriate, and sweet all in a nice, single Peter package. But, more than that, he was such a great friend for Mindy as her confidant and therapist. That is the relationship I will miss the most.

Mindy: I mean look how he reacted to your news. He didn't even show up to the party and that's just you.
Peter: Tough to hear it phrased that way, but I understand what your saying.

Many of the characters had their fitting goodbye with Peter, true to their relationships. Morgan and Peter joked around, Danny had a heart-to-heart, followed by a beat down by some water, and Jeremy mostly made a reference to the relationship with Lauren. The most important though was with Mindy, but not because of the actual goodbye because of the baby sized bombshell he dropped over the phone.

Yes, Mindy Lahiri is pregnant with Danny Castellano's baby. Mindy has inched herself closer to Keeping up with the Castellanos, plus a Lahiri.

Of all the big news to be dropped, a pregnancy was not something I expected. A Danny/Mindy breakup seemed more plausible than a Lahiri/Castellano baby. It will be interesting to see how this is played out, with Mindy's fellowship, the California offer, and the new home Danny bought. There are bound to be some great episodes ahead.

Overall, I was a big fan of this episode. With Peter's goodbye and the pregnancy announcement, plenty of great stuff happened. Not to mention some hilarious writing and lines from all characters. There was even a Scandal reference thrown in the mix.

Just because I look like Olivia Pope does not mean I know how to disappear a body.

Mindy

Are you going to miss Peter? Were you expecting the pregnancy bombshell? How is the pregnancy going to change the dynamic of the characters and show?

Not to brag, but I am straight up killing this bitch. The program, not the patient.
