Jada Pinkett Smith is about to go gangster.

The former Hawthorne star has been cast as a series regular on Gotham, the intriguing new Fox series that will explore the backstory of Detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and other famous DC Comic villains.

Pinkett is on board as Fish Mooney, an evil gangster boss and nightclub owner.

The character possesses a lot of street smarts and has an uncanny ability to read people. Simply put, Pinkett's Smith should NOT be crossed.

As previously detailed, Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) will be part of Mooney’s gang.

Donal Logue, Zabryna Guevara, Erin Richards and Sean Pertwee have also signed on for Gotham, which will premiere later this year.
