Friday Night Lights Movie: No Go, Peter Berg Says
Matt Richenthal at .There will be no movie of the show that was based on a movie that was based on a book.
Peter Berg finally made that clear over the weekend.
Following a great deal of back and forth over whether or not a new Friday Night Lights movie would be made, the producer told Collider.com in an interview:
“There’s not gonna be a movie. We talked about it, some people thought it was a good idea, some didn’t; I’ve come to believe it’s probably not a good idea and I seriously doubt it’s gonna happen.”
Connie Britton has expressed interest in the past of reprising her beloved role of Tami Taylor on the big screen, but star Kyle Chandler has always been hesitant.
“My general attitude about Friday Night Lights is, it was a great movie with Billy Bob [Thorton, who starred in the original film] and it was a great TV show,” Chandler told MTV News last year. “They ended it at exactly the right time and in exactly the right way, as well.”
We couldn't adore this series more, but we also can't help but agree.
Forget going to the theater to see Coach Taylor and company. You can sit back and watch Friday Night Lights online right here and now instead.
