Bates Motel: Renewed for Season 2
Matt Richenthal at .A&E has made a long-term reservation in Bates Motel.
The well-reviewed drama will return in 2014 with 10 episodes, the network announced today. It has been averaging approximately three million viewers per week.
The Psycho prequel tells the tale of Norma and Norman Bates, with the pilot picking up six months after the latter's father mysterious dies and the pair relocate to a shady beach town where they run the titular motel.
“Bates Motel has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal audience in its first few weeks,” said Bob DeBitetto, president and GM of A&E. “With superb writing and exceptional acting, led by the critically acclaimed performances of Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore, we’re incredibly excited to see where Carlton and Kerry take Norma and Norman Bates next.”
