The Office Season 8 Scoop: New Characters to Come

at .

Two characters will be pregnant on The Office next season. Pam and...? Hmmm.

But that's not the only scoop that came out of this week's Television Critics Association summer press tour. Among other season eight scoop, courtesy of producer/star BJ Novak:

How will Dwight react to the hiring of Robert California (James Spader) as the Sabre CEO? Not well. "Dwight wants to be an alpha male. On the other hand, Dwight admires nothing more than an alpha male who will put him in his place, which is what Michael Scott was to him."

Andy and Dwight

The three candidates for branch manager? Darryl (my choice!), Dwight and Andy. Why not Jim? "Jim has been offered the manager job before, but Jim isn't about his job. Jim works to have a great life at home with Pam and his family."

Who else may show up? New characters, played by "people at the forefront of comedy... We'll have a few big names when they fit in really well, the way we did in the finale last year with Ray Romano and Jim Carrey. So we'll do some of that, but for long-term, we really want to grow new stars."

TV Fanatic will be there every step of the season eight way, of course, updating our section of The Office quotes on a weekly basis.

The Office Quotes

Kevin: Michael, did you just throw up in here?
Michael: Nah. Just poopin'. You know how I be.
Kevin: It smells like throw-up in here.
Michael: Crazy world. Lot of smells.

David, here it is. My philosophy is basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter... where. Or who, or who you are with, or, or where you are going, or... or where you've been... ever. For any reason, whatsoever.
