Report: Desperate Housewives to End After Season 8

There are no quotes and no confirmation from ABC at the moment, but a reliable source tells Deadline that Desperate Housewives will come to an end following the 2011-2012 season.

An official announcement is expected to be made tomorrow at the show's Television Critics Association press tour panel.

At a Cabaret Show

Cast members Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Eva Longoria are reportedly taken aback by the news, as the drama was expected to have at least another year on ABC because the network has an option for season nine with all four actresses.

Instead, it looks like the series will wrap up in May.
