Spoiler warning to Smallville fans who have not yet watched last week's episode of this CW hit: stop reading now!

It was revealed on "Abandoned" that Clark is in possession of a diamond ring, and producers have now revealed that he and Lois will, indeed, get engaged in the very near future.

"It goes kind of where people are expecting it to go," executive producer Kelly Souders told E! News. "And it'll happen in the next three episodes."

What else can producer Brian Peterson tell us about the moment? It will be "pretty romantic" he admits, comparing it to Lois and Clark's barn scene from episode 200.

"That's hard to top," he said. "We're trying. We're giving it the old Smallville try."
