Soon after the network announced that Fringe was casting for the key role of Olivia's mother, we hit up fans for their take on who should take on this part.

We now have the answer: Amy Madigan, most recently seen as Meredith's therapist on Grey's Anatomy and probably best known for her role in Field of Dreams, will recur on Fringe next season.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Madigan's character may only appear "over there" and is described as a devoted mother with shocking ties to the Bishop family. She'll appear on the September premiere and recur in four episodes.
