NBC Shuffles Thursday Comedy Schedule

at .

In comedic TV scheduling news, NBC has decided to give its new comedy series, the Amy Poehler vehicle, Parks and Recreation, a big push by sandwiching it between new episodes of The Office when it debuts on Thursday April 9, at 8:30.

The Office had originally been scheduled to finish its 29-episode Season Five run with a double bill on May 14, but due to the double episodes around the Parks and Recreation (formerly Public Service) launch, it will now go out with a single installment.

The change will leave 30 Rock an episode up, however, meaning that the satirical sitcom starring Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin will fill the May 14 gap with its own finale.

Two many funny shows = scheduling conflicts to figure out when is best to air them all. Guess that's a good problem to have for the Peacock on Thursday evenings.

The Office Quotes

Kevin: Michael, did you just throw up in here?
Michael: Nah. Just poopin'. You know how I be.
Kevin: It smells like throw-up in here.
Michael: Crazy world. Lot of smells.

David, here it is. My philosophy is basically this. And this is something that I live by. And I always have. And I always will. Don't ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter... where. Or who, or who you are with, or, or where you are going, or... or where you've been... ever. For any reason, whatsoever.
